Being a Toronto pet photographer has its perks. Quite often I get to celebrate the joy that comes along with the arrival of a new furry family member, which can be such fun. But TINY Mochi’s arrival was even more special because she got to be a BIG part of a very important day for her family – the day her humans got engaged! (Tell me, what you were doing when you were only 9-weeks old?) But yes, Mochi was the culmination of a very well-executed plan that her Dad had come up with in order to woo Mum into saying, ‘yes’. (She did!)

Given those happy circumstances, during their Design Consult, both Mum and Dad said that they were hoping to incorporate the ring into some of the final portraits. While they may have thought it might be impossible because well, it would require posing a kitten, Mochi showed that she can model like a star.

Of course, in our never-ending quest to create timeless artwork, we mainly photographed Mochi as herself at this very brief period in her life. Mochi is a ragdoll kitten and will therefore grow to be much larger than she was the day we had her in our studio. Her colouring will change and her ‘tips’ will darken, so it was important to photograph in a way that preserves her ‘kittenhood’ forever.

There was one image that I envisioned in my mind before the session, believing that Mochi would be the perfect model. Reminiscent of fine art newborn photography, the beauty of this image is the colour, drape and texture of the fabric with an equally richly-coloured background. The monochromatic palette makes Mochi come alive. And just look at those stunning blue eyes!

In the end, Mochi went home with a gorgeous Posh Pets® Folio and a large piece of canvas wall art. I cannot wait until she returns for her second session…all grown up!

Milo – Tiny and Orange | Toronto Kitten Photographer

Milo – Tiny and Orange | Toronto Kitten Photographer

It’s Monday. It’s cold. It’s February. Even though Toronto was recently named one of the best cities to live in the world, it can be tough to feel the love when you are faced with a day like today. Well, here is your little pick-me-up to start your week off right…

Here at Posh Pets we photograph animals of all breeds, shapes and sizes. And, we love them all! But there is something completely adorable in a brand-new tiny kitten. Their little mews and the way they go about exploring the big, wide world – it is the stuff that warm, happy thoughts are made of. I had the pleasure of photographing this little ball of orange fluff recently and, as you can imagine, thoroughly enjoyed myself while doing so. With the softest fur and beautiful, blue eyes, Milo is a stunner. He also knows how to work the camera and how to crawl his way into your heart. While I love creating gorgeous portraits, I would be lying if I didn’t admit to totally looking forward to the snuggles I get between images.

Now, look at Milo’s sweet face and tell me that you aren’t smiling. And suddenly the day doesn’t seem so bad…all thanks to Milo!

Adoptables – TAS North Region | Ontario Pet Photographer

Adoptables – TAS North Region | Ontario Pet Photographer

This week we have a whole gaggle of new doggies and two little tortoise shell kittens. Please check them out and contact Toronto Animal Services – North Region if you see a future family member in the bunch! You can also check out the Posh Pets Photography Facebook page for a little detail about each of them.

First, we have two little kittens. They are both a bit shy, but they do love to play!

Next are the beautiful dogs…

Look at the gorgeous smile on Chevy! He wants everyone to know that he is waiting right here for his forever family.

These two labrador puppies are so calm for being only 6 months of age and they are almost impossible to tell apart.

Nothing like the stunning blue eyes of a siberian husky!

I absolutely loved this guy’s colour – what an amazing red coat he has!

And here is lovely Rubix – his eyes are so soulful.

Please come back and see us all next week!

While it was “raining cats and dogs” outside, we were inside photographing the warm and dry kitties!  Take a look at this week’s adoptables which feature a number of little kittens. If someone catches your eye, please contact the Toronto Animal Services – North Region to check on them.

And now, please meet Hank! Hank bravely faced the wet elements so we could show you what a beautiful German Sheppard mix he is.  He is anxiously awaiting to meet his forever family!

Until next week!
